Why it's a band, not a final number: the exact figure firms up after a final precise measurement and manufacturer spec lock before we proceed. This quote tells you whether the project, specified the way I'd build it, lands in your range — before either of us invests further.
What's in it: per-opening recommendation, tier rationale, install method rationale, full-house vs phased options with honest math, cost band ±15%, expected install timeline.

If you'd like to move forward after the visit, a formal quote follows within 7 business days. The quote is itemized to the opening level: REHAU profile system per unit, glazing spec, hardware spec, install method per opening, flashing material, sealant material, anticipated rough-opening prep, trim allowance, removal and disposal.

Payment structure: 30% deposit at contract sign (to confirm production), 40% at delivery, 30% at install completion. No exceptions, no shifted timelines, no "discount for cash" theatre.
Inclusions/exclusions disclosed: who handles permits if required, who coordinates with painters/trim carpenters/stucco contractors if applicable, who's responsible for matching interior finishes.
Validity: 30 days. After 30 days the manufacturer pricing can drift; re-confirmation happens at re-issue.

The final precise measurement + spec lock.

After contract sign · before production

Once deposit is received, I return for the final precise measurement before production. Different discipline than the first visit — every dimension to ±2mm, every rough opening checked for square and plumb, every shim plan documented, every flashing plan diagrammed.

Why a second measure: manufacturer tolerances are tight. A 5mm miss on the first-visit measurement is fine for a quote band; the production order has to be exact, so this final measurement happens before we proceed.
What gets locked: REHAU spec sheet finalized (profile, glazing build, hardware, finish, optional features), GU hardware spec confirmed, install method per opening confirmed, flashing material brand and sequence confirmed, schedule slotted into the production calendar.
REHAU lead time: 10-14 weeks typical from spec lock to delivery. Custom shapes (arch, trapezoid, oversize) can run 14-18 weeks.

The install execution.

3-6 working days for a typical 25-window home

Install runs in a controlled sequence — one opening at a time, finished completely before moving to the next. Your family stays in the house throughout. No rooms torn apart, no "wait until tomorrow" with daylight showing through the wall.

Daily protection: drop cloths interior, plastic dust containment at doorways, debris removed at end of each day.
Per-opening sequence: remove existing window → inspect and prep rough opening → install sill pan flashing → set new window with shim packs and deflection clearance → mechanical fasteners → flashing tape sequence (sill, jambs, head — gravity-shed) → air seal (backer rod + low-modulus sealant) → low-expansion foam insulation fill → interior trim reinstall.
Family in the house: heat stays on, no exposed wall cavities overnight, the room is sealed before I leave at end of day.
Site cleanliness: end-of-day broom + magnetic sweep for fasteners. Final-day power-sweep of the work area and the yard adjacent to the openings.

The walk-through + warranty handoff.

Day of completion

Before final payment, we walk every opening together. The post-install checklist runs through tilt operation, turn operation, lock engagement at all multi-point bolts, sash squareness, plumb and level of the installed frame, interior air-seal continuity, exterior sealant tooling, NFRC sticker presence, drainage path clarity.

Documentation package: NFRC certified ratings per unit, REHAU manufacturer certificate, GU hardware warranty card, install warranty letter, photo documentation of pre-install and post-install state, recommended maintenance schedule.
Warranty coverage: REHAU frame 25 years (manufacturer-direct, transfers with home); REHAU IGU 10 years; GU hardware 10 years; install warranty 5 years on workmanship.
Follow-up: one-month check-in by email or phone — anything settled, anything operating differently, any concerns. Six-month and annual follow-ups by email — the kind of check-ins that catch a minor issue before it becomes a real one.
